Woo hoo! New siding and windows for Front House. It was a cloudy day (surprise), so everything is a little gray.
The porch is still the original pre-fire porch. The house doesn't look quite so gigantic from the right side and front.
From this side, the house is a monster. Siding looks great. Regrettably, no one answered the door when I knocked so I didn't see inside.
The featureless wall is in the back too.
I was a bit taken aback with white (it used to be blue). It's a very big building and it looked like a white elephant to me at first. In retrospect, it looks more "classic" than blue does. It reminds me of the pictures of old Front House.
I wonder, though, how much cleaning it will need.

A closer-up of the siding and windows. Looking in the basement openings showed a pool table in the middle of a big rework.
I like this style of window much more than the old ones.
The BBQ pit was built in my era. Looks the same (1990-ish). (Squirrel is plastic.)
The rest of the property needs a lot of TLC too. (I took some pics of the decay to document it, not to lessen how good Front House looks.)
What the hell color is that porch? Last comment 01/14/2005.
Ouch.
Snyder House is in rough shape.
I think those window cracks were created in 1989 during a slingshot war with Back House.
The "meat locker" (door on left) is nearly rotted away.
The barn, though, looks great.
Front House porch looks just about like it did 15 years ago. It's always been in a constant state of needing repair.
This railing looks worse.
