Across the pond

I didn't write a real trip report for my recent London visit (wasn't much time for non-work-related events). But I did take some photos, and I've scrawled a few random musings. Enjoi.

Another try, after my first response was eaten last night:

The building you saw was the new London Assembly, which had to be built after Thatcher abolished London's local government and sold County Hall to the Japanese to turn into a hotel. It's also known as "The Glass Testicle".

I somehow knew when you wrote "this is cute", that the picture would turn out to be of a Mercedes 'A' Smart Car.

Greetings, Del! Yeah, I love those Smart Cars, although I don't think I'd feel too safe driving one here in the land of SUVs. I already feel like I'm putting myself in danger every time I drive my Honda del Sol.

Thanks for the info about the London Assembly-- I'll update the photo page with the details.

I don't know when I'll next be back in London, but I'm hoping it'll coincide with a BSFA meeting again. It was a lot of fun meeting you all!
