Kind of Blue

My think BLUE bands arrived in the mail this week (a shout-out to Poz for bringing them to my attention). I wore my first one for less than 24 hours before giving it away to a friend who liked it. (And I forgot to grab another one out of the box to wear today!)

Given away 9 now. (I grant that one went to a certain Max Z who might not quite understand the political statement being made. But, his wishes would not be confounded.) Cargo pants let you carry a couple extra if you don't want to put them on your wrist.

I find it vaguely difficult to describe what they mean to people in passing. Most people say "Oh, a pro-Democrat band." For me, it's more of an anti-Bush regime/anti-NeoCon/anti-Hate band. This is too fine a point for most. And most people I've met don't want a Democrat band.

This idea works well: When you're talking to someone who you think may be sympathetic, you give them a band and tell them to check out the website on the band when they have some time.

Also, some people think of the bands as charity bands. They don't always feel right taking them since (a) they didn't give money and (b) they don't know where the money went. So, giving someone an extra you have is easier for them than giving the one off your wrist.
