I'm at work. That's the only reason that I'm not screaming right now:
Bush endorses 'intelligent design'Contends theory should be taught with evolution
WASHINGTON — President Bush waded into the debate over evolution and ''intelligent design" yesterday, saying schools should teach both theories on the creation and complexity of life. […]
Science is the great antidote to the poison of enthusiasm and superstition.

Posted by: rv at August 3, 2005 08:03 AMI'm more of a proponent of idiot design. This would explain all the failures such as Trilobites and dinosaurs.
Posted by: Jay at August 3, 2005 10:55 AMHmm. Trilobites were around for 295 million years (give or take). Dinosaurs lasted for over 100 million years. That's hardly a failure, in my eyes.
Hominids have been around for 4 to 8 million years; homo sapiens for a mere 100,000 years. It remains to be seen if we count as a "success".
Posted by: rv at August 3, 2005 12:47 PMI think this would be a good place for a Jurassic Park quote (which has nothing to do with the point I was making):
Dr. Ian Malcolm: God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs...
Dr. Ellie Sattler: Dinosaurs eat man. Woman inherits the earth...
