Scrabble night

Via fark.com: David Mach's Myslexia, an 8-foot tall sculpture of a nude woman made from 4,200 Scrabble tiles - worth more than 76,000 (not possible) 7,600 points (pix here).

Sometimes I wish I weren't an engineer. How do you get 76,000 points with 4200 tiles without double/triple letter/word scores?

Hmmm… You're quite right. I quoted from the article, but didn't do the math. (If the sculpture was made with 42,000 tiles, it might be worth 76,000 points, assuming an average of 1.8 points per tile.) Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any web sites with more details about it. Maybe I'll email the Sunday Mirror and tweak them about their sloppy reporting.

7600 sounds quite reasonable.

So, while you were on vacation, were you constantly hearing things like:
-RV made $30 million this weekend
-See Robin Williams in RV
-RV, #2 at the box office
Every time I heard one I had to chuckle just a bit.
