I'm the stage manager for The Dead Guy, opening on Friday, April 24, at Acme Theater. Tonight is our last dress rehearsal. This is our last show of the season, and it runs through Saturday, May 16. If you enjoy cutting-edge theater, I hope you'll come check it out during its run. Please feel free to spread the word to friends in the area, local theater-goers, fans of reality TV, haters of reality TV, your Twitter followers, the guy who fixes your car, your best friend's cousin on Facebook… We're not picky, we just want a good audience.
Tickets are $16. If you have a group of 10+, they're $14. Call the box office to reserve tickets: 978-823-0003. (I do recommend calling ahead, especially if you're planning on attending a Saturday performance.)
Reality TV Takes Over at Acme Theater
The Dead Guy

Eldon has no ambitions, no prospects, and no future. He meets up with Gina, a television producer who will lose her job unless she comes up with a ratings grabber— quick! So how about a reality TV show in which Eldon gets to spend $1 million in one week? And then he is killed in a manner to be chosen by the viewing audience? Reminiscent of a Jerry Springer episode, Eldon is faced with the question of whether a week as a millionaire is worth more than a lifetime as a loser.
Whether you are entertained or disgusted by reality TV, Coble's The Dead Guy is a humorous and thoughtful critique on society's obsession with other people's realities. Don't miss this biting commentary on the TV industry and its audience— a show for both the lovers and haters of reality TV.
The Dead Guy will be performed on:
April 24, 25, May 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16
Friday and Saturday shows are at 8:00 pm.
Sunday show is at 3:00 pm.
